The Colonial Theatre was directly next door to the left of the Metropolitan Theatre, later renamed Palace Theatre.

The Colonial Theatre was opened on May 12, 1912 in a one story building. It was closed in November 1913 and converted into retail use. It was demolished and was replaced by 1918 with a two story building.

Lloyd’s Restaurant was on the site at the time of the Palace Theatre’s 1956 fire next door.
