Toldi Mozi

Situated in the centre of Budapest, the appropriately named City Cinema opened in 1932. It was briefly renamed Szittyára (“To Sittya”?) in 1944, before reverting to its original name, although it also operated as the Úttörő (“Pioneer”) at some time, before receiving its current name in the early-1950’s.

In 1992 the Balázs Béla Studio took over the cinema, and it was converted into two screens.

In 2004 it was taken over by Budapest Film. It was closed from May to October 2008 for a major renovation, including the creation of a café in the foyer.

Seating capacities are: Screen 1:216 and Screen 2:31.
