The Tower Theatre was located in the St. John’s district to the north of Downtown at the corner of Mountain Avenue and McGregor Street. It was opened in 1937 and was operated by the Western Theaters Ltd. chain. They were still the operators in 1950. The Tower Theatre was closed in 1961.
It was demolished in the early-1960’s to make way for a parking lot of a new Safeway supermarket.
