This large wooden building was constructed as a skating rink sometime between 1904 and 1910, on land reclaimed from a channel which had previously created an island to the north. The building was a very basic square.

The 1914-15 AMPD lists this as the Rink Theatre. It is unclear how long movies were shown here, but the 1918 map shows it used as an armory, with a house added to the north side.

Based on the original use, this building was likely the origin point of the devastating July 21, 1923 fire that destroyed most of the southern section of downtown. At that point it was used as auto storage, and someone apparently lit a bonfire inside.

The location today is the site of a derelict Moose lodge.
