Mystic Theatre

This theater was located in the southern storefront of a three story stone or concrete block structure built sometime between 1898 and 1904. The 1904 map shows a furniture store here. The building may have been intended as an opera house, as there was a stage on the third floor.

By February 1910, the theater was operating, and this was likely the Mystic Theatre listed in the 1914-15 AMPD. The theater had closed by 1918, when this location was a grocery.

Long ago demolished, this building may have been a victim of the 1960s flood control work on the Allegheny River.
