The Sudbury Drive-In opened its gates on July 8, 1949, and was one of Canada’s earliest drive-ins. The Sudbury Drive-In was originally located on Garson Road but was renamed the Lasalle Boulevard Drive-In when the road name was changed to Lasalle Boulevard.
It was last operated by Wilson Century Theatres and was closed in the mid-1980s. It was demolished during Thanksgiving Week 1987 to make way for the Lasalle Court Mall with an estimate $7.5 million.
