The interior decoration for the improved cinemas was by Mollo & Egan, using a similar design to that used at the Embassy-Braintree, Regent-Horley & the Majestic-Reigate. This was the underwater theme with fish swimming amongst seaweed.
The ground layout on a gentle slope, plus the exit on the first implies a balcony possibly as well as a raked auditorium floor, in which case, it was a good sized capacity venue.
The Jackson Withers Circuit was bought by Rank in November 1976, this included the Cornwall cinemas run by them, however, Rank quickly disposed of them to independents. This particular venue was bought by WTW Cornish Cinemas as they are now known, operating as Capitol Bingo alongside WTW’s Capitol Bingo club in St. Austell, which is still open.

Opening date was 10/04/1939, that was the Easter Monday in 1939.
