Happy belated 30th!!! Looking at the pictures of when it first opened it was ahead of its time. The success of this theater laid the groundwork for other megaplexes, although it lacked stadium seating when it first opened.
THe rerelease was in 1996, moax429. Independence Day was a carryover from the Tenplex, as was Oliver and Company. I saw Oliver when it was reissued and before that at the Allwood in Clifton. It came around the same time as Land Before Time, which was a better movie. ID4 I saw in Secaucus Meadow six. I saw James and the Giant Peach at the Cinema 35 during that year too.
My predictions were right. On Wednesday of next week Blade Runner the final cut will be shown in 4k regular before the sequel arrives in Imax 2d, Reald 3d, and Dolby.
When E.T. was reissued for the first time in 1985, Back to the Future played here instead of ET, as that movie played on the Route 17 Triplex. In 2002, ET played at the Tenplex, and in recent years it has been shown as part of TCM Big Screen Classics at the Garden State 16.
Tomorrow the movies will return to Hackensack with the opening of an AMC Lux Dine-In theater, the first of its kind in the country, at the former site of the Saks Fifth Avenue at the Shops in Riverside. 9 screens with dine-in delivery along with recliners will be there. All the showings of It are sold out. Somebody should put out a listing of that theater.

I wonder if more people are seeing Dolby than imax? Dolby is legit while Imax is fake
The downside to this is that tickets are a bit more expensive than Imax.

When did the Route 4 Tenplex get split surrounds? I’m sure with the release of Apocalypse Now many theaters used a 5.1 setup for 70mm engagements.

Amen. I liked the theatrical version with the narration that I grew up with on VHS, as well as the director’s cut.

I noticed on Route 10 that the left side of the theater has a giant amc logo to go along with the amc sign where the loews name used to be.
