In looking at a Google Street view of the Blue Fox theater the marquee for it does not have a separate location for the DI movies. Unfortunately the current Street View is from March of 2011 so no DI advertising is on it to see how they set it up. According to the directions it is 1.5 miles from the DI.

Use the format 51 US-6, Wellfleet, MA 02667 when using Google Maps or Historic Aerials. The format above does not map properly on either, but the one I just posted does.

Address for this is roughly 400 Medway Road, Mattawamkeag, ME 04459. Google maps will put you just a little south and east of it, outline is still visible.

July 2014 Google Street View the Marquee is still standing and in both Google and Bing aerial views it appears the Screen and Projection Booth are still there.

Interesting to note, all the talk about Wal-Mart above? They DID build one…directly across the street from this Drive-In.

It was closed in 1977 and torn down that same year. Looking at Historic Aerials shot from 1978 no trace of it remained and there were business already built on site.

Ok, all kinds of new info on this Drive-In, starting with the fact that is now called the Bethel Drive-In, not Randall. Apparently the previous managers of the property ran in to some legal troubles with their Kickstarter campaign:

http://www.vnews.com/Vermont-AG-Sues-Drive-Ins-Former-Managers-5064281

Now it is being run with new managers and digital projection. If you type in Randall Drive-In on a google search you will see TWO different Facebook pages, the original Randall one and the newer Bethel one as well is a the regular Bethel drive-in website. The original is an interesting read.

There is a baseball diamond that was built in the middle of the woods just past where this drive in was. The dirt road leading to the diamond goes right down the middle of where the drive-in was just before turning right (north) towards the baseball diamond. Other than the outline, if you know what you are looking for, it appears nothing remains.

As NYozoner stated, this drive-is long gone. Historic Aerials shows it there in 2003, but in 2008 there are businesses on the site. Google Street view from August 2014, when looking down where the entrance road was, shows the ticket booth is still standing as of then.

This Drive-In did not reopen at the start of the 2017 season due to the death of longtime owner John Nagelschmidt in an accident in April while getting the drive-in ready. After several months of prep work his son and daughter reopened the theater this past Friday, July 14th. The link is to an article about the reopening.

Looks like the remnants of the entrance road are still there just north of the building that sits on the front of the property. Can’t tell if anything is back behind the building in the mini-woods though.

Looking at a current aerial view I would say it is some form of DVD projection. The booth used to project the movies is a tiny box about 50-60 feet in front of the screen. Looking at their Facebook page would seem to back this up. They ARE showing a movie every Saturday from the beginning of June until the end of September with a special Halloween event at the end of October, but every single movie is available on DVD. They did show Beauty and the Beast on June 10th, 4 days after it came out on DVD.

The address for this one would be 126 Mark Lane, Waterbury, CT 06705. This puts you right at the corner of Mark Lane and Industry Lane. The continuation of Industry Lane appears to be the original entrance road to the Pine Twin Drive-In looking at aerial maps and comparing.

Google Maps and Historic Aerials do not like that address. If you use 3273 N Old State Road 3, Kendallville, IN 46755 you’ll hit right on the former Drive-In, now occupied by Snyder Food Services – Uncle Don’s Cookies.

From their Facebook page:

Our Projected Re-opening Date Is Friday July 21st. We’ll have screens #1 and #3 open with new digital projection and digital sound. The opening date of screen #2 will be announced soon. While the drive-in still needs a quite a bit of T.L.C., the digital upgrade has been a major expense and should be seen as a good indication of things to come.

They are experiencing some trouble with their neighbors. Seems that they were losing too many in-a-car speakers to accidental damage or souvenir hunters so they installed blast speakers. They are now going to court since the neighbors complained.

Still have a link on their website for the Digital Projection drive. I do not know what movies are still being made in 35MM but according to their Facebook page they have shown just about every new movie that has come out this year. So either there are still a ton of 35MM films coming out or they switched at some point and haven’t publicized it.

This appears to be owned by a company named Goodrich Quality Theaters. They own 31 theaters in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and 1 in Florida. This is the only drive-in they own. Digital projection on both screens, appears to be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The last 3 are double features and on Thursday one screen shows a vintage movie while the other shows a current release, no double feature.
