Paul Bunyan Drive-In

Built in August 1949 by Lou Kramer. A tornado damaged the screen in July 1956, but the drive-in remained open until at least 1968. It was located at the southeast corner of W. Hurbert Road and Bear Springs Road, just south of the Alcona County line, and had a capacity for 200 cars.

According to at least one local resident, this was actually the third drive-in in Hubbard Lake; the first two were short-lived, informal setups located north of the Paul Bunyan Drive-In. To this day, the site of the Paul Bunyan is still a vacant lot with two driveways remaining.
