Opened as the single screen Town Theatre on April 8, 1966. Located in the corner of the ‘L’ in the L shaped Clarkstown Plaza strip mall. Split into 2 screens in 1981. Owned by Brandt Theaters until the late-1980’s. On February 15, 1991 it became the New City Cinema 6
Around 1995 the owner was Nelson-Ferman Theatres. In 1998 it was taken over by Clearview Cinemas and became New City Cinemas. In June 2013 Bow-Tie Cinemas took over when they took most Clearview locations. On November 1, 2013 it was renamed Bow Tie Cinemas Fine Arts, and changed from screening first run movies to independent and foreign movies. Around 2017 Bow-Tie let the lease go and it was taken over by Main Street Cinemas.
Permanently closed by the pandemic in March, 2020.
