The opening of the Kenyon Theatre was announced in the Lodi News-Sentinel on May 13, 1915, as Stockton’s newest theatre. “The playhouse is devoted exclusively to high class pictures". It was reported that the principal drawing card was Thomas Kenyon, who sings at every performance.
Wright Realtors in Stockton notes that the theater had a prior history of five names, beginning in 1905 as the Bell Theater. Then came the Majestic, Hippodrome, Columbia, Kirby, and finally the Kenyon. It had closed by 1926.
