Roy Picturedrome

Located in the Beswick/Openshaw district east of the city centre, just a few yards along Ashton Old Road from the Queen’s Picture House, close to Royal Street and adjacent to the Clock Face Hotel (neither of which exist today). The Roy Picturedrome was opened in 1914. It was equipped with a Picturetone sound system by 1932 and retained that system into the late-1940’s. By 1953 it had been equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system.

The Roy Picturedrome was closed in 1958 and has since been demolished.
