Sunshine Theatre

The theatre appears on the 1921 Sanborn, in a simple brick commercial building constructed sometime before 1908. Deep and narrow, the 1913 map shows a general store located there.

No later maps are available, but this is unlikely to have been a long-running operation due to larger purpose built competition. It was still open in 1926, but had closed by 1927. The current storefront appears to date from the 1950’s or 1960’s. When in operation, the address was 103 E Main (the railroad tracks were the E-W divider).

The building is still in reasonable shape, but is currently vacant, like much of downtown.
