This unattractive utilitarian box served as the base theater for Blytheville AFB. It was almost certainly constructed sometime after 1955, when the base reopened as a Strategic Air Command facility, after having served from 1942-46 as a training base. To judge from the ‘architecture’ it is likely from at least the mid-1960’s, but it may have been remodeled.

After being renamed to Eaker AFB in 1988, the base was closed in 1992. Although some of the base buildings are in use by public or private entities, the theater appears to have sat derelict since the closure of the base.
