Co-operative Hall Cinema

Locate in Little Hulton, to the south of Bolton, Lancashire (now part of Greater Manchester) at the corner of Manchester Road East and Cleggs Lane. The impressive Co-operative Hall building had a co-operative store on the ground floor and a cinema named the Picture Hall operating upstairs on the first floor of the building by 1914. By 1927 it had been renamed Co-operative Hall Cinema. It was still operating in 1928 but had closed by 1929, probably never being equipped to screen sound films.

In 2022 the ground floor is still in retail use and also a Bet-Fred betting shop, while the upper levels which were previously the cinema are in use as a gymnasium and martial arts school.
