Regal LA Live is now getting recliners installed, currently theatres 7-10 are now installed with recliners, theatres 11 to 14 currently closed for upgrades.
@BenPaz first Regal picks which theatres get modernrized like Times Square (aka EWalk) or Union Square or just upgrade seating like Midway or Sheepshead Bay. I used to live in NYC for 55 years and now I live in Houston. In Houston, Regal did a Union Square renovation at Marq E and mainly seats some fixed up the corridors of Regal Greenway. If you go on google website post of Sheepshead Bay, their were recent pictures with no upgrade to the original corridors that were done by United Artists.
Yes I look up the seating of many theatres in the US, their are people that like to know the capacity and check for grand opening ads and @rivest266 is also into cinema history and spends time looking up grand opening ads for every theatre.
I’ve been interested in how theatres were built over my lifetime and yes been to the UA The Movies at Sheepshead Bay on opening weekend and saw Beverly Hills Cop 2 in theatre 3 long before stadium seating was installed in 2000.
When Sheepshead Bay opened in 1987 only 4 screens had Dolby Stereo Screens 1 to 4 and the rest were MONO. Theatre 4 was 70MM 6 Track Dolby Stereo equipped and saw Hoffa their, they might of show 1 or 2 other films in 70MM. Termiantor 2 Judgment Day was shown in CDS in screen 4.
The last time I saw a film their was in 2019, but stop going the rest of the year and in early 2020 due to the fact the theatre patrons were talking alot and went to Alamo Downtown Brooklyn instead.
Please update name to Regal Oviedo Mall and this theatre is currently adding recliners into this complex, once the project finish, will update the seating capacity.
