Movie Theaters Designed by Boller Brothers

The Boller Brothers were one of the earliest and best-known theater design firms in the country. Carl and Robert Boller hailed from St. Joseph, Missouri and by 1905 Carl moved his office to nearby Kansas City. His younger brother Robert joined him in 1906, and was eventually made a partner. Initially focused on local vaudeville houses, the Boller Brothers designed several theaters in Nevada. The firm later developed movie palaces all over the west coast and the Midwest. Their most famous theater is the KiMo Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Like many other firms, the Depression wiped the Boller Brothers out and the firm was dissolved in 1931.
