Built by the Salmon Arm Committee Association, the four-screen Salmar Grand Theatre opened on May 16, 1997. There were plans to add an additional two screens in the future (as of January 2011) but never happened. The theater features first-run attractions including 3D films.

Actual opening date is May 16, 1997. It originally housed 592 seats total (with 292 seats in Screen 1, 140 seats in Screen 2, 110 seats in Screen 3, and 90 seats in Screen 4).
