The 427-seat Star Theatre opened its doors in 1921 by A.C. Blaine. He managed the Star Theatre in its heyday, and it was located in the middle of the block on Norbury Avenue, across from City Hall. It quickly became a landmark of the downtown area, with many businesses proud to describe their location near the Star Theatre.
Famous Players briefly last operated the Star Theatre in early-1954 before closing during the mid-1950’s.
