The Rex Theatre opened its doors on November 28, 1912 as the third movie theatre in town, alongside the Edison Theatre and the Cranbrook Auditorium. It was also the first building whose sole design was dedicated to the increasingly popular medium of film.
It was still open in the early-1950’s, but unfortunately I cannot find its closing date.
