Located in the heart of Covent Garden in central London. The Electric Cinema Club was operated by Peter Howden, who also operated the Electric Cinema, Portobello Road, Notting Hill.

This venue was formerly the Strand Electric Demonstration Theatre (Strand Electric & Engineering Co. Ltd. manufactured and hired out and supplied theatres and cinemas with lighting equipment). It opened as the Electric Cinema Club on 3rd March 1977 with Anjelica Huston in "A Walk With Love and Death".

The venture was not a success, and it was taken over by new management and re-named Covent Garden Cinema Club in June 1977. It was closed in April 1978.

The building today is in retail use, with a Simon Carter menswear shop.
