Located on Belgrave Road, opposite Law Street in the Belgrave district to the north of the city centre. The Belgrave Cinema was opened in 1913 and was designed by Leicester based architectural firm Seale & Riley. It was a single storey building which had raised section of the façade over the entrance, which contained a semi-circle glazed window. It was operated by Walter H.B. Emson, who also operated the Aylestone Cinema. All 760-seats were on a single sloping floor. In the 1930’s it was taken over by Arthur & Enid Black and was equipped with a Western Electric(WE) sound system.
The Belgrave Cinema was closed in 1960 and was demolished. A Bank of India now stands on the site.
